After setting up our shop in Mt. Washington two+ years ago, Kim and I felt that we needed to ‘change’ things up in our living room. After all we hibernate in that room from November thru February. Our changes involved pushing our huge ass coach back three plus feet, and hanging our 50 inch TV on the wall. In addition we got a new coffee table, and some cube ottoman thingys.
Mind you I’ve hung other TV’s on walls before, albeit a 20 inch that weighed about 10 lbs tops. This sucker weighed about 130 lbs. Much like any home improvement project, it seemed easier said, than done, especially since I needed to render a 130lb object to a piece of drywall.
Needless to say two weeks later, everything is still anchored appropriately, and I got it perfect the first time. The only problem is we now might be hibernating longer than even WE would like in our living room.
Coincidentally, I just hung up my TV on the wall last weekend and am equally as nervous. I’m thinking of taking it down pulling on that mount some more… gotta stress-test it.
If you can do a pull up on it, it ain’t going anywhere
